At a garden on the Champs Elysee (May 2013)

Welcome to my blog! My name is Amy Pipher, and I am a junior at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, GA studying history and international relations. More specifically, I’m studying history with a concentration in post-World War II international political change and international relations with a concentration on peace and security studies. Yeah, I know, I’m a major nerd, but I enjoy it that way! I hope to eventually go to graduate school (yay Georgetown!) and get either a Masters in Foreign Service or Masters in Security Studies.

I am about to embark on an 8 month adventure to Brussels, Belgium to study at Vesalius College. I have been abroad before, once in high school for a couple weeks in the Netherlands, than again earlier this summer for a couple weeks in France. I am super excited about the opportunity to be abroad for so long and to really get to experience a new culture. Not only will I be getting an education at a top-rated European college, but I am also getting to become even more ingrained in the culture by living with a host family. I intend to make the most out of this experience!  That being said, I hope to save these awesome adventures and memories in a way that might be helpful to me to write and entertaining for you to read. I will document thoughts, discoveries, discussions, and observations I make abroad and hope to get a better experience out of it!
